DAGA 2017 in Kiel– Eigenvalue Problem and Modal Superposition in the Acoustical Free-Field
At the German annual conference for acoustics the chair of vibroacoustics of vehicles and machines presented several topics. One of which was “Eigenvalue Problem and Modal Superposition in the Acoustical Free-Field”:
The paper discusses two criteria used to identify irrelevant modes in the numerical simulation of radiated sound power by means of the Normal Modes method. These irrelevant modes can be neglected in the modal superposition, which can reduce the otherwise high computational cost.
